The Role

Overview

Oversee resource planning, allocation, budgeting and team management for projects.

Tasks

-Responsible for and ownership of the costs for the teams reporting to the post and meeting business targets. -Supports and delivers strategies for continuous improvement. -Manage the project design resources allocations with the discipline leads in line with the design stage and to identify the need of additional resource and/or disciplines. -Ensure procedures are established to ensure necessary consultations take place with and approvals are obtained from all authorities. -Carry out investigations, disciplinaries, safety checks and general line management duties -With the assistance of the commercial team, ensure resource requirements and costs are attributed correctly. -To liaise with the training department and HR to ensure all training requirements are met. -Ensure that a planned programme of technical and safety workplace assessments are carried out for all employees on the program to the relevant legislation and safety standards -Primary point of contact for the project teams with regards to resources for the project. -Leading the reporting of progress of the resource forecast and requirements as agreed with the management team. -Ensure that team members visiting the site complete RAMs and follow site access procedures. -Responsible for allocating the use of sub-contractors and employees from other areas as required. -Undertake regular lesson learned for continuous improvement and knowledge share updates with the wider group -Lead the onboarding and offboarding of resources for the project. -Ensures training and competence fully understood for resources in advance of joining the project and those on the project. -Brief and implement new systems and processes to the programme team. -Primary point of contact for promoting and recruiting (in association with engineering and HR) to ensure full resource capability across the project. -In conjunction with the commercial team monitor the project costs and forecasts. -Prioritise and plan the allocation and delivery of resources in liaison with the wider team and requirements. -Lead team, technical briefs and safety meetings -Monitor the wellbeing of the team.

What You Bring

-Team leader capable of motivating the team -Knowledge of investment processes and procedures -Membership of the Association for Project Management or other professional body -Relevant successful experience in resource management -A degree or equivalent -Commercial and financial understanding and knowledge -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills -Detailed knowledge of the wider WSP and supply chain options -Six Sigma Yellow Belt -General knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations
