Tasks

Perform and manage field commissioning procedures for electrical systems, including moderately complex systems including data centers and other mission critical facilities. Manage and lead commissioning projects, as well as other commissioning engineers would be a plus. Be self-motivated and proactive on projects with limited supervision. Position is very mentally demanding and requires candidate to be self- aware. -Perform as lead on small or moderately sized commissioning projects. -Foster a Customer-First Mindset -Provide some project management. -Complete projects consistently on time and under budget. -Be responsible for commissioning communications and updates. -Operate safely in a construction atmosphere performing commissioning operations. -At least (8) commissioning projects including Design, Construction, and Acceptance phase processes. -Plan, schedule, and perform work for mid to large size projects and program. -Insure project schedules are being met. -Perform all aspects of commissioning of electrical power distribution system. -Perform commissioning submittal reviews. -Track and report commissioning issues throughout the project. -Play an important role in each commissioning project. -Perform commissioning design reviews. -At least (5) commissioning projects including Design, Construction, and Acceptance phase processes. -Develop pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems commissioning scripts. -Cultivate effective relationships with existing and potential key clients, customers and contractors. -Execute commissioning scripts. -Develop and assemble final commissioning reports. -Maintain strong client relationships.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus. -Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record. -Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping -Performs well as part of a team of various groups and disciplines. -Requires a high degree of communication, supervisory, and organization skills. -High school education or equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experience. -Strong computer skills including editing, formatting in Microsoft Word and Excel, use of Internet for standards/products/ manufacturer research, and operation of computer-controlled test equipment. -Knowledge of ASHRAE commissioning industry standards and a Commissioning certification is preferred. -Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and night work. -Light Lifting (5 Ibs.-25 Ibs.) -Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors) -Extreme cold (below 32*) -Knowledge of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) process for New Construction and Existing Buildings and LEED Accredited Professional is preferred. -Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. -Graduate of applicable Commissioning Technical Training and two years minimum same or similar work experience. -Experience with generators, uninterruptible power systems, static switches, power distribution units, automatic transfer switches, switchgear with PLC/microprocessor control is preferred. -Frequent driving (car, van, truck) -Background and experience in operation and maintenance of all types of switchgear through 600V class. Through the 15KV class preferred. -Medium Lifting (30 Ibs. – 45 Ibs.) -Communicate technical or project related subjects accurately via email. -Extreme heat (above 100*) -Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.) -Good judgment, dependable, performs on projects with technical expertise. -Heavy Lifting (over 50 Ibs.) -Must be available for out-of-town travel of up to several weeks at a time. International travel may be required. -Knowledge and theoretical understanding of building electrical systems, including normal and emergency power distribution systems, critical power systems, generators, UPS’s and batteries, monitoring and alarm systems, automatic transfer switches, static switches, power distribution unit, metering, motor control centers, and interlocks. -Graduate Bachelor Engineer (BSEE or BSME). -Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA. -Frequent bending / twisting -Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders) -Frequent Standing -Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and peers. -Work outdoors (no effective protection from weather)
