Manage finances for large EPC projects, ensure GAAP compliance, reporting and audits.

Tasks
-Train and mentor other Project Accountants, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance team performance. -Assist tax department in calculating and processing job cost and sales tax accruals in accordance with state and county tax regulations. -Assist project teams with complex accounting-related questions or needs, providing guidance and support. -Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with other business partners, including Project Managers, to ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and controls. -Ensure subcontractor compliance with document requirements. -Perform cost coding and review the accuracy of vendor and subcontractor invoices. -Develop and enhance project accounting processes, identifying and implementing improvements for efficiency and accuracy. -Adhere to all financial deadlines, including month-end and quarterly reporting by maintaining a sense of urgency for all tasks. -Process subcontractor payments in a timely manner. -Review and track Preliminary notices. -Prepare documentation and assist in interim and year end external audits ensuring thorough and accurate records. -Oversee all accounting related functions for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure adherence to GAAP and other regulatory bodies. -Drive team adherence to month end and quarterly deadlines, consistently adopting innovative ideas to push a more efficient and accurate closing process. -Assist Accounts Receivable with cash application process for owner billings. -Collect and review lien waivers for subcontractors and sub tiers. -Understand and review owner contract for accounting related tasks & responsibilities. -Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of complex journal entries, financial analysis and respective account reconciliations.

What You Bring
-Experience with online integrated accounting systems -Minimum 3 years of construction accounting experience. -Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills -Strong analytical skills -Candidates located in Pacific or Central time zones are preferred to support late-day collaboration and ensure alignment with project team schedules. -Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) -Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience -Ability to instruct and review the work of team members and provide assistance -Ability to organize work and handle multiple projects -Possess working knowledge of preparing AIA billings and assembling billing with supporting documentation. -CPA, CMA or CCIFP preferred -Strong understanding of accounting procedures and principles -Effective written and verbal English communication skills, including professional telephone manner -Prior exposure to public company audits or experience supporting external audit processes is strongly preferred to ensure readiness for compliance and reporting standards
