The Role

Overview

Internship performing lab testing, site assessments, and admin tasks in construction services.

Tasks

-Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results -Perform a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures. -Assist in preparing work order for construction material testing -Communicate effectively with client and project teams -Use specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks -Assist in classifying soil samples and various geotechnical laboratory testing -Make detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results -Operate testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provides assessment of data through reporting -Provide back-up support for other department administrative staff -Work utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams -Perform data entry maintenance in company systems

What You Bring

-Must be currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management degree program at an accredited University -Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time -Must be able to work off shifts and overtime -Ability to climb occasionally -Must be able to read and understand work plans -Ability to kneel and squat occasionally -Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance. -Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required -Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication -Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound. -Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
