Tasks
-Participate in staff meetings and other meetings related to the company and department. -Responsible for organizing, developing, and presenting service training for Astec, Inc. customers, including maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and operating instructions. -Maintain complete files on customer plants and equipment in relation to field problems, warranty claims, technical data, and legal issues. -Support and promote the core values of Astec, Inc. -Stay current with technology effecting the asphalt plant and road building industry. -Responsible for the administration of all warranty claims and policy adjustment credits as related to field problems. -Serve on committee and focus groups as assigned. -Organize, develop, and present service training. -Responsible for the preparation of department budget and compliance with the budget. -Stay current with technology that effects the asphalt plant and road building industry. -Review and approve expense reports. -Project a positive company image by interacting with fellow associates, customers, and corporate management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner. -Follow proper safety rules and procedures at all times. -Responsible for telephone service assistance as needed, working from Astec, Inc. offices or home. -Evaluate staff performance at meeting company and personal performance goals and make recommendations based on appraisals. Ensure performance appraisals are utilized throughout the department. -Maintain accurate data for evaluation by Engineering and Manufacturing departments. -Has responsibility for the entire Service Department. -Coordinate issuance of Service Bulletins with Technical Publications and follow up on completion of said work. -Oversee the entire service department. -Assist in the development of operator, maintenance, and service manuals. -Follow company policies and procedures at all times. -Organize, coordinate, and develop a staff of field service personnel to effectively provide field service assistance for our distributors and/or customers. -Provide accurate data for evaluation by Engineering and Manufacturing Departments for immediate solution to correct field service areas and make recommendations as needed. -Administrator all warranty claims, and policy adjustment credits as related to field problems.

What You Bring
-Ability to effectively work as a member of a team required. -Minimum of eight years of experience in the HMA industry required. -Strong analytical skills required. -Occasional travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport. -Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements. -Basic mathematical skills required. -Ability to manage conflict and resolve issues in the most positive fashion for all parties concerned is required. -Knowledge of and skills to read mechanical, electrical, and electronics blueprints and designs required. -Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are required. -Basic computer skills required. -Ability to effectively manage others and provide coaching and discipline to departmental employees, as needed, is required. -Knowledge of all aspects of the operation of an asphalt plant required.
