Tasks

The Superintendent is responsible for the successful onsite execution of heavy civil construction projects, overseeing daily operations from planning through completion. This position plays a critical role in coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and schedules while upholding Miller Bros.’ standards for safety, quality, and productivity. -Maintains accurate project documentation, including daily logs, production reports, and punch lists. -Serves as the primary onsite representative of Miller Bros., maintaining professional relationships with clients, inspectors, and vendors. -Communicates daily with Project Managers regarding job progress, cost tracking, and schedule updates. -Assigns and oversees SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan) compliance. -Ensures compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards. -Sets performance expectations and provides clear direction for foremen and crew members. -Coordinates with project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and resolution of conflicts. -Plans and schedules manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve production goals and meet project deadlines. -Directs daily jobsite operations and supervises field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and suppliers. -Mentors and trains crew members to develop future leaders within the organization. -Coordinates inspections and ensures adherence to all safety and environmental regulations. -Leads onsite safety culture and ensures adherence to all safety policies and procedures. -Investigates and reports all incidents and near-misses in coordination with the Safety Director. -Conducts weekly safety meetings and daily job safety analyses (JSAs).

What You Bring

-Minimum 3 years of field experience in Landfill Construction or Heavy Civil Construction with a focus on mass excavation, including supervisory roles. -Understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and civil construction best practices. -Strong leadership and field management experience. -Familiarity with construction software such as Heavy Job, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other project tracking tools. -Associate degree in construction management or related field preferred. -Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities. -HDPE pipe installation experience is a plus. -Proficient in reading blueprints, project specifications, and construction schedules. -Ability to travel to and work at various job sites in differing weather conditions. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -30-Hour OSHA certification, MSHA Certification and First Aid/CPR training required or willingness to obtain. -Experience with estimating, production tracking, and cost control is a plus. -Physically able to lift up to 100 lbs. and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
