Tasks
-Drive ergonomics initiatives to reduce MSD illnesses/ injuries -Participate in Kaizen events, 5S, Lean Daily Management, Waste Elimination, Managing for Daily Improvement, Visual Factory, Six Sigma projects and other similar processes. -Maintain a leadership presence at the site, influence employee and Leadership behaviors, and fully engage employees in the safety process. -Champion the Safety Committee and act as a resource to sub committees. -Maintain, collaborate and update EHS information (charts, and graphs) and communicate metrics. Also, the EHS Coordinator will oversee the site Safety Data Sheet (SDS) system. -Execute all required aspects of our Critical Safety Foundations and SIF Programs and support development of other key safety and EHS programs in collaboration with site leadership and Doors Business Unit EHS. -Translate safety and health strategies into results. -Assist in environmental recordkeeping and compliance in accordance with federal, state and local ordinance requirements including site specific environmental permits. -Coach, mentor and re-direct personnel at the site to encourage prioritization and stewardship of our EHS goals. Continually reinforce the company’s stand on safety and environmental compliance and always recognize employee accomplishments and contributions. Empower employees to prevent or stop and correct unsafe acts or work conditions. Educate team members on safe operations of new processes or modifications. -Assist in the development of innovative solutions and drive sustainability goals through partnership and influence of key stakeholders and team members at the site. -Proactively identify potential hazards associated with all manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials by conducting formal risk assessments. Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks and ensure a safe working environment. Regularly review and update risk assessments to reflect changes in operations and maintain compliance with evolving standards. -Drive and support change management and engagement in EHS related matters and activities within the site -Collaborate and implement wellness programs to meet site needs. -Responsible for document maintenance and retention for EHS training requirements. -Assess the facility's environmental compliance with site-specific permits or regulations. Develop and implement programs and procedures to maintain compliance. -Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring EHS action plans and programs to ensure a high level of safety and environmental awareness within the facility. -Risk prevention in all areas identifying and documenting potential hazards, including but not limited to materials exposure, accidents, near-miss, fires, other unsafe conditions, environmental spills and releases or other non-compliance. Use appropriate protocols and actions to address. Notify appropriate parties, and internal stakeholders for the purpose of corrective action, preventive controls, and training as needed. -Provide support to all facility team members with respect to EHS awareness, leading emergency training, evacuation planning, emergency response, policy interpretation, safety audits, environmental inspections, and how to locate resources, etc. Ensure 100% completion of training plan and certified competence of all employees trained. -Effectively communicate with the hourly workforce and plant leadership teams -Supports conducting timely and thorough EHS incident investigations including matters of workers’ compensation. Analyze all accidents/incidents to ensure root cause identification and corrective action, notify appropriate parties, document and submit report of findings.

What You Bring
-Recordable incident rate (RIR) -Possess an innovative mindset, and ability to support change and development of new or existing programs and initiatives -Comfortable navigating complex or challenging situations -Deficiencies in internal H&S Audits -Minimum 2+ years of experience leading EHS efforts in an industrial manufacturing setting. Floor experience is highly desired -Basic understanding of EHS programs in a manufacturing environment. -Ability to prioritize tasks -Ability to work within various Microsoft and 3rd party software programs -Strong business acumen, integrity, and ability to use good judgement and work autonomously -% Satisfactory Audit Score for SIF Programs and Safety Foundations -Foundational knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) standards, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or State environmental regulations and regulatory program areas. -Strong critical thinking, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills -Hazard Recognition and Risk Assessment -Bachelor’s degree in any field related to EH&S, such as Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Science or equivalent preferred -On-time Environmental Reporting (internal & external). -Ability to think independently and maintain productivity and accountability under minimal supervision -Fluent in Spanish (ability to provide detailed training)
