Tasks
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the supportive and administrative duties related to purchasing and Account Payable. The Purchasing Specialist will perform a range of duties in support of Management and staff which contribute to the successful performance of Procurement, ensure successful business operations and maintain a focus on continuous improvement processes. -Processing Invoices for all orders and ensuring orders are received -Takes on additional tasks when other departmental staff are absent -Adheres to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies -Performs new material cost evaluation for management review -Works with team members to identify instances of damaged shipments, including addressing and following up with suppliers and requisitioner. -Identifies and communicates issues arising from the supply of materials and services with both the vendor and internal requisitioner. -Manages supplier relationships and update management on any issues with vendors -Creates request for quotation (RFQ); Communicates with vendors and selects vendors based on price, service and ability to meet production needs -Processes purchase requisitions from internal departments and ensure proper approvals have been given prior to placing items on order -Ensures that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct -Supports ISO 9001 activities -Monitors, evaluates, and analyzes vendor performance to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met

What You Bring
-Excellent time and project management skills -Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with user departments and key external stakeholders -Experience using SAP is an asset -Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office and enterprise ERP system and e-mail required -Quarterly and Yearly data collection is preferred. -Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization -Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently -Degree/Diploma in procurement field and/or related experience -Demonstrated analytical skills with particular attention to detail
