As part of this next phase of their growth, they're adding a player/coach Battery Modeling Team Lead who will manage a team of 3 Battery Scientists & Developers, and drive forward battery science projects for the organization

  • Conduct rigorous testing on battery systems including performance, safety, and lifecycle assessments.
  • Oversee the development and optimization of processes to improve efficiency, including responsible use of AI and productivity tools.
  • Manage and lead a team of 3 Battery Scientists and Battery Developers.
  • Support the integration of cells into larger systems to ensure optimized storage, power delivery, and efficiency.
  • Provide strategic direction for long-term planning and growth of the battery science function, including identifying new R&D opportunities.
  • Utilize and enhance simulation tools to predict battery life, efficiency, and performance for multiple chemistries (Li-Ion, Li Metal, Sodium, Lead Acid, etc.).
  • Develop and validate models simulating battery performance under varying conditions (e.g., charge/discharge cycles, temperature, degradation).

  • Bachelors, Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of battery estimation techniques (SOC, SOH, SOP, SOT).
  • Min 5 years experience in battery engineering space
  • Deep technical expertise in battery technologies, materials, and testing methods, with proficiency in Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Familiarity with systems engineering for applications in energy storage, eMobility, and robotics..
  • Strong exposure to ML and AI in the battery space
  • Strong experience in a player/coach role
  • Min 2 years experience in a managerial role in the battery space
