Tasks

Hold a leadership role with operational and business development responsibilities, contributing to the growth of the buildings group and SIT business. Ensure all designs adhere to rigorous quality standards and are executed with precision. Assume full accountability for project segments, including managing electrical team staff, quality assurance, on-time delivery, and resource planning. As an Associate - Electrical, you will leverage your extensive sector knowledge to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems, with a primary focus on mission-critical data centre facilities. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving project success, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to our strategic business development. Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence. Leverage your strong work-winning track record to support both internal and external business development initiatives. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, project managers, and clients. Represent the electrical team in key internal and client-facing meetings, providing expert insights and recommendations. Spearhead the development and implementation of innovative electrical engineering solutions that meet the demanding requirements of our Strategic IT (SIT) business clients. Proactively manage project alignment with strategic objectives and resolve significant conflicts or challenges. Provide electrical oversight and guidance on projects across other building sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, aviation, and leisure. Lead the design of complex electrical systems for data centre environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, efficiency, and scalability. Apply strong technical expertise in electrical engineering principles, power systems, and relevant design standards. Act as the Associate Electrical Lead on medium to high-risk, major projects, taking ownership from concept through to commissioning.

What You Bring

Sector experience in healthcare, education, commercial, aviation, or leisure is highly valuable. Strong Technical Expertise: Profound knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and their application in complex building environments. A demonstrated track record in business development and winning work. Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering design and analysis software tools. A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Strategic Mindset: Ability to proactively manage projects, foresee challenges, and align work with broader business objectives. Communication: Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly. Extensive experience leading the development of electrical engineering solutions across a range of projects, with a strong emphasis on mission-critical data centres. 12-15 years of proven experience in electrical engineering within a consulting business environment. Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects and teams, manage resources, and mentor staff effectively.
