Tasks

-Performs a limited range of project management responsibilities under the supervision of experienced project managers. Asks questions when performing unfamiliar tasks. -Encourages experimentation when faced with new challenges. -Research and reviews new products, industry trends and evolving codes and standards. -Performs calculations and designs basic to advanced engineering systems with a high degree of independence. -Promotes a culture of collaboration across roles and teams. -Assists with developing, establishing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers in support of business development and/or pursuit activities. -Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment. What You Bring

-Occasional travel may be required (10-15%). -Adapts to changing work environments, priorities and organizational needs. -Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred. -Completion of FE exam, LEED and/or WELL accreditation preferred. -Advanced proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu required. -Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. -Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering (i.e,: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience without degree required. Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience. -Demonstrates empathy and builds strong relationships with colleagues. -Ability to read, write and communicate in English. -Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards required, as well as a broad understanding of other engineering disciplines. -High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. -Team oriented and willingness and ability to function in a highly collaborative environment, in group projects and leading less experienced designers. Ability to also work independently as needed. -May be enabled as an Engineer of Record, having additional involvement, oversight, responsibility and accountability for the overall signing and sealing of the project. -Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in the job description. -Confronts exclusionary behavior and participates productively in discussions of diverse, sensitive societal topics. -Navigates ambiguity and change in a positive way, proactively seeking support from leadership when needed. -High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes. Comfortability with training others on systems and processes. -Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer. -Recognizes opportunity for improvement, creating and supporting processes and feedback to improve results. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus. -Consistently performs to a higher standard of industry-wide expectations associated with carrying a PE license and being enabled as an Engineer of Record (EOR), including making reasonable engineering decisions and delivering the highest quality of work and accountability to projects. -Understands and applies Henderson’s design guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.
