Tasks
Shirley Parsons is working with a leading, regional civil engineering and construction contractor, to help them find a Safety Manager in the Boston, MA area. Reporting into the Safety Director as part of a closeknit and high-performing safety team, this hands-on role will support a variety of projects in the New England and North-East region. This person will be responsible for executing the company's safety initiatives and programs on designated projects and foster a robust safety culture. -Develop tailored health and safety plans for specific projects, and drive proactive safety initiatives throughout all projects in the region -Examine all incidents and near misses to determine underlying causes and implement preventive measures, while creating detailed incident reports. -Conduct safety training sessions, including onboarding for new employees, project-specific orientations, safety briefings, and specialized program training. -Working closely with individual project teams, leadership and frontline employees, to identify and correct all hazardous actions, behaviors, and working conditions, and ensure compliance across all projects with Local, State and Federal regulations

What You Bring
-5+ years of safety experience in a civil or utility construction environment is required -CSP, CHST and/or CUSP credentials would all be desirable; with a strong understanding of relevant OSHA standards and regulations within the construction industry -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with project personnel -Ability to travel as required throughout New England and the North-East, across multiple project locations -Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
