Facilities Engineering Lead

Description

In this leadership role, you will provide oversight and guidance across civil (land development), landscape architecture, building structures, and MEP disciplines, while collaborating with established facilities engineering teams in Maryland and across the country to deliver impactful, community-focused projects.

• Client Engagement:Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring responsiveness and alignment with client needs and market demands.
• Business Development:Expand the Facilities/Civil business line by identifying new opportunities and leading strategic growth activities.
• Division Expertise:Serve as a technical expert and thought leader, representing the division within Kleinfelder and the broader industry.
• Proposal & Technical Oversight:Lead proposal preparation, including pricing strategies and technical evaluations, positioning the team for project wins.
• Department Leadership:Lead and oversee technical team managers across multiple disciplines, providing comprehensive project and program oversight.
• Department Growth:Drive business growth through effective budget management, resource planning, and strategic development initiatives.
• Technical Direction:Guide multidisciplinary teams using industry standards and best practices to solve complex project challenges and deliver high-quality results.
• Project Management:Manage and execute projects of all sizes, taking full ownership from concept through completion.

• Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or architecture.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to develop, mentor, and grow team members.
• 9+ years of experience in engineering, design, or related technical disciplines.
• Solid understanding of business strategies, with the ability to leverage business acumen to meet client needs and position services effectively.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License registered in the state of Maryland and DC.
• Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple teams and deliverables.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License registered in the state of Virginia.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Ability to recruit, retain, and develop high-end technical talent within a dynamic organization.
