Heavy Equipment/Truck Mechanic

Overview

Repair, maintain, and inspect heavy equipment/trucks, with on‑site travel and shop work.

Tasks

-Diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required -Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues -Inspecting heavy construction equipment, attachments, heavy trucks, and trailers for proper performance, and to detect faults and malfunctions -State Inspection of vehicles / trailers -Testing repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications -Travel to jobsites to perform services / repairs as required -Overhauling major components like engines and transmissions, and using diagnostic tools -Accurate record-keeping of all work performed. -Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment -Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools

-Adherence to mandated safety procedures. -Manage time effectively/Self motivated -CDL A Preferred -Must Have Own Tools -Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanic -Working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical systems -Previous Heavy Truck and / or Equipment Experience is preferred. -Clean Driving Record -Welding Ability Preferred -Inspection License Preferred
