The Role

Overview

Coordinate manufacturing material flow, schedule production, and manage inventory using software.

Tasks

-Coordinate with operators to assist with part flow and, if necessary, operate the forklift to support production needs. -Conduct end-of-day 5S tasks to maintain a clean, organized workspace. -You will process surplus, rejected, and/or defective material according to procedures. -You will utilize the computer, including Microsoft Excel, DMM, AS400, and the Material Synchronization Spreadsheet, to maintain control of floor stock and floor records. -You will act as a back-up Team Lead if needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations. -Attend the Tier meeting, check and update emails, and log into required systems (DMM, Enovia, AS400). -Review production tasks, including checking turnbacks, the Kanban list, crane sheets, and SPCs on the brake and/or punches; also identify past-due parts. -You will review and update the status of orders and materials with manufacturing supervisors, material control personnel, and people in work areas, customer service, and KanBan expeditors. Includes regularly scheduled multi-functional production meetings which vary from once a week to daily depending on area(s) of responsibility. -You will coordinate material for your designated area as well as between areas to meet scheduled ship dates.

What You Bring

-Ability to work with both internal and external customers in managing changing schedules -Excellent written and oral communication skills -Must demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment -Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities -Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required. -Prior experience with AS400, VISTA, and DMM computer programs. -Self-motivated and results oriented -Strong organizational skills -Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments -Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals -You will problem solve manufacturing information by identifying missing and incorrect items. -Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner -High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution -Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required. -Previous coordinator experience is strongly preferred. -Must be able to learn from past experiences and apply learning to current situations -Understanding of DMM, DMM Fabricated parts/ Kanban ordering process -Must learn and operate a forklift as needed -Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship

Benefits

-No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
