Production Operator

Overview

Manufacture and inspect rupture discs and related products on production line.

Tasks

-Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and keeping work areas and the factory floor clean and free from hazardous material -Informing Supervisors of faulty machinery or production issues -Following standard operating procedures (SOP) and supporting teams to create new SOP’s as appropriate -Keeping accurate records of any defects and scrapped materials -Carry out high quality manufacturing tasks to the agreed and/or documented standards -Operating and cleaning assembly and production machinery and also hand-held tools -Monitoring a production or assembly line and conducting basic testing and quality checks -Adhering to relevant health and safety regulations when operating machinery and handling products -Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines -Keeping accurate records of materials used -Ensuring all quality standards are observed and maintained -Escalating issues where appropriate and working with relevant cross functional teams to find solutions -Respectful of employees, customers and team members in all conversations and communications. Promote company values and behaviours -Ensuring a cost effective and timely production to meet production targets and customer requirements -Complying with health and safety requirements, policies and procedures -Storing goods and raw materials in a factory or warehouse, which may involve operating lifting equipment and forklift trucks

What You Bring

-Ability to show initiative and work independently when required -Excellent time management with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure -GCSE / Equivalent grade A-C in Maths and English and preferably one other in a technical subject -Good communicator -The ability to interpret technical specifications and information -Good concentration and attention to detail to quickly notice errors on a production or assembly line -Knowledge of the relevant safety and quality standards and procedures -Willingness to complete on the job / vocational training as well as formal qualifications as required -Customer focused
