Overview

Assist pipefitters installing, assembling, and maintaining industrial pipe systems.

Tasks

-Cuts or drills holes in walls to permit passage of pipes, using pneumatic drill. -Selects specific type and size of pipe. -Assists Pipefitter to install valves, couplings, and other fittings. -Mounts pipe hangers and brackets to hold pipe. -Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, and pipe threaders and benders. -May disassemble and remove damage or worn pipe.
