Development Manager

Overview

Lead acquisition, planning and delivery of residential and joint‑venture development projects.

Tasks

-Maintain strong relationships with Registered Providers and manage affordable housing disposals -Manage consultant teams, budgets and performance throughout the project lifecycle -Represent Hill in meetings with local authorities, clients, landowners and consultants -Share knowledge and support junior team members as part of a collaborative team culture -Own the end-to-end management of land-led and JV schemes through acquisition, planning and handover -Lead project programmes and coordinate teams to meet milestones and mitigate risk -Support legal and technical due diligence and ensure key risks are tracked and addressed -Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to align design, planning and commercial strategy -Prepare and review viability models, cash flows and sensitivity analyses -Direct pre-planning activity and ensure all documents are accurate, timely and fit for submission

What You Bring

-Proven experience leading schemes from acquisition through to delivery -A proactive problem-solver who brings clarity and confidence to complex situations -Member of (or working towards) RICS or RTPI -Commercially astute with experience preparing and reviewing appraisals -Degree in Land Management, Planning or a related discipline -Confident negotiator and communicator with a collaborative mindset -Skilled in consultant coordination and bid preparation -Strong understanding of planning policy, technical constraints and due diligence
