Accounting Specialist

Overview

Handle hotel cash, AP/AR, and support month‑end closing and financial compliance.

Tasks

-Monitor and track group advance deposits and ensure proper posting. -Process accounts payable: code, verify, and post invoices accurately and timely. -Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and respond to inquiries. -Compute and record numbers correctly. -Lead or participate in weekly credit meetings, reviewing outstanding balances and credit issues. -Manage accounts receivable: post guest payments, apply group advance deposits, and ensure timely billing. -Assist with month-end closing procedures. -Copy large quantities of numbers without error. -Follow procedures for keeping records. -Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial procedures. -Manage hotel cash handling, including daily cash counts, reconciliations, and deposits. -Use eyes, hands, and fingers at the same time to enter figures in books and forms, or to operate a calculator or personal computer.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles -High School completion OR an equivalent level of education and experience, preferably in a hotel setting -Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork. -Experience with accounting software.
