Tasks
-Assist senior and mid-level scientists in field work associated with the collection of natural resource data -Perform assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods, and coordinate with other team members and technical staff -Work on a wide variety of environmental compliance and natural resources projects as they relate to water resources, transportation and development projects -Coordinate with specialty sub consultants or consultant team members -Interact with clients and agencies -Conduct quality reviews for content, accuracy and completeness, meeting client and corporate standards -with project team members in problem solving and solutions -Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings -Assimilate and manage data, provide creative graphical representations of complex information -Write, review, and edit work products -Assist public and private clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance -Collect project-related data, which may include research, conducting surveys for listed species, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, natural resources, land use, etc. -Work on environmental planning, environmental assessments/impact analysis and associated permitting and compliance monitoring for transportation and other infrastructure projects that require conformance with state environmental reviews & National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) -Assist with project schedules, have responsibility for tracking leading and delivering products and projects -Research and interpret scientific literature, regulatory programs, guidance, and applications -Take responsibility for assisting with environmental permits, NEPA documentation, biological assessments and other environmental compliance documentation -Work under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental scientist and water resource engineers -Support and manage projects which involve permitting, wetland and stream mitigation design, planning, documentation, etc. -Work with geographic positioning tools and information systems -Prepare constraints mapping

What You Bring
-Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities -MS Office experience -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Excellent writing and communication skills -Masters 's degree in Environmental Science or closely related field -1+ years transportation or development-related technical and/or field experience preparing environmental documents which should include experience in wetlands/natural resources, permitting, planning, NEPA, MEPA, CEPA, SEQRA, Section 7, research and assessment of regulations, GIS applications -Field experience skills preferred -Wetland certifications preferred. CWS, PWS, WPIT etc. -Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field -Candidates who reside locally in the New England area and have New England experience are preferred -Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
