The Role

Overview

Lead geo-analytical lab, manage team, develop techniques, ensure quality and profitability

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Prioritise production to ensure timeframes are achieved. -Maintain stock levels for efficient operation of the department -Conduct quality control checks, troubleshoot issues, and calibrate instruments as required. -Comply with quality programs and guidelines and escalate if there any concerns in meeting these guidelines -Comply with HSE guidelines and programs -Actively participate in meetings and audits -Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and new analytical techniques. -Customer focus to ensure samples are run on time and escalate concerns appropriately -Adhere to safety guidelines and initiate corrective actions when required. -Perform equipment maintenance when required to minimise downtime -Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

What You Bring

-Potential of OT and Weekend work may be needed at times -High Knowledge of NATA 17025 accreditation. -Ability to maintain staffing levels, including managing leave -Experience leading a team is required -A formal qualification in Chemistry, such as a Bachelor of Science is necessary -A strong safety mindset and experience with HSE training, toolbox talks and escalating safety concerns -Familiarity with geoanalytical processing principles and techniques -Knowledge and troubleshooting ability with Scientific Instrumentation – ICPMS, ICPOES, XRF, LECO. -Computer literacy skills is required -Strong Communication and Leadership Skills -Experience in a minerals laboratory is preferred -Experience with QA/QC procedures and calculations
