Tasks

-Act as liaison with local/state agencies and manage public communications as needed. -Monitor contractor invoices and progress against earned value metrics. -Maintain and update H&S documentation including orientation checklists and inspection records. -Review and enforce contractor Health and Safety Plans (HASP). -Lead or participate in daily safety briefings and weekly safety audits. -Perform regular field inspections to verify material deliveries, installation quality, and schedule adherence. -Enforce the Environmental Management Plan and conduct daily site inspections. -Report environmental incidents and coordinate with Customer and regulatory bodies (e.g., NYSDEC, CT DEEP). -Perform and document weekly audits and maintain environmental compliance records. -Assist with the preparation of the project final documentation package. -Support review and tracking of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), redlines, and submittals. -Conduct and document weekly progress meetings and ensure two-week lookahead schedules are submitted. -Maintain current as-built drawings and project documentation on site. -Manage material reconciliation and documentation at project closeout. -Submit weekly and monthly reports; maintain logs for RFIs, change orders, correspondence, and daily field updates. -Ensure proper control of RFIs, DCNs, FCNs, and all field modifications. -Verify equipment tests, permit compliance, and workmanship against standards. -Coordinate daily construction activities, contractor schedules, and site logistics. -Monitor implementation of corrective actions for safety violations. -Facilitate problem-solving with engineering, inspectors, and contractors. -Ensure incidents, near misses, and injuries are properly reported and investigated. -Conduct and record weekly QA inspections, energization readiness checks, and site walkdowns. -Support outage coordination and initiate requests via E-STAR/CONVEX systems.

What You Bring

-Understanding of environmental compliance (SWPPP, wetlands, spill prevention). -First Aid / AED Certification -Familiarity with industry standards (NEC, NESC, OSHA). -Valid driver's license -Option 2: Two-year degree in a relevant field + 8 years of field experience -Direct related experience in Construction and Maintenance of Substation Facilities or Transmission / Distribution Systems is necessary: -OSHA 30-hour safety training -Background check clearance (as per Customer Contractor policy) -Option 1: Four-year degree in a relevant field + 5 years of field experience -General knowledge of electric theory, line work, and substation construction. -Option 3: 10+ years in construction/maintenance of electrical transmission/distribution systems or substations -Experience with switching/tagging procedures and safety protocols.
