Tasks

-Reviewer and approver for all new coding requests related to operating and capital expenses -Responsible for operating expenses and capital expenditures for assets under Products Pipelines Segment -Review AFE listings and coordinating with Operations Support Group (OSG) for status updates on AFE’s -Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement -Assist with audits both internal and external -Provide training and guidance on capital and expense accrual policies to applicable groups -Review and analysis of various income statement line items related to operating expenses for actual forecast and budget variances -Reviewer and Tier 1 approver for all Products AFE Projects in the Consolidated Activity Request System (CARS) -Work with Engineering to ensure detailed completion reports are completed for all projects and the corresponding depreciation is booked -Review and approval of all operating expenses and capital accruals at month end -Bi-Weekly forecast for various categories including opex, depreciation, property taxes and other expenses. -Review and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls ensuring adequate support is provided -Critically review AFE expenses and ensure proper asset handling for various categories including overhead and tax gross-up on certain project types -Review and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations in Blackline

What You Bring

-Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel. -Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis. -Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required -Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated. -MBA/CPA preferred -Must be able to work overtime during high volume periods, including but not limited to month/quarter/year-end close -Must possess strong collaborative leadership skills – able to set priorities, delegate, motivate and develop the team -Minimum of 10+ years previous accounting or finance related work experience, with at least 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry. -Complete understanding of Capitalization Policy and compliance with Kinder Morgan policies -Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and often with strict deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of work product -Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all functional groups and levels, both internal and external.
