Tasks
-Structured Cabling Systems Installation Supervision -Expedite vendors and subcontractors on a daily and weekly basis. -Outside / Inside Plant Cabling Installation Supervision -Safety - The primary responsibility for job safety rests with the Superintendent. Ensure safety is properly incorporated into job planning and execution; promote accountability among staff members and subcontractors as it relates to the project safety policies; and enforce these policies by actively participating in all safety-related functions. -Study labor recaps and cost controls carefully to determine areas needing special attention and initiate changes and procedures to bring costs back into budget. -Maintain accurate time keeping and cost records. -The individual in this position will periodically walk, kneel, sit, crouch, reach, stoop, read/see, speak, push, pull, lift, stand, and finger/type. The frequency of each action varies by workflow and field activity. -Mobilization - Complete specific tasks as assigned in pre-job planning sessions. -Develop Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen and craft persons. -Coordinate and schedule all subcontractors – Hold weekly scheduling meetings with all subcontractors’ Foremen. -Coordinate and supervise all Company work forces on the project including employment of laborers and craft persons. The Superintendent has the authority to hire and fire all hourly paid personnel under his or her direct supervision. This also includes the indoctrination of Foreman and holding them accountable. -Owner Relations – Participate in the Owner/Architect/Contractor meetings. Along with the Project Manager, ensure Owner and Owner’s Representatives are aware of changes to schedule, potential conflicts, etc. -Personnel evaluation, development, and retention. The Superintendent will be consulted in the assignment of salaried staff. They are responsible for defining what is expected of (goal setting), providing feedback to, and evaluating salaried personnel under his or her direction. They are to recommend promotion, transfers, or termination according to the project's needs and personnel evaluations. -Job Planning - Development and implementation of the pre-job plan. Make course corrections to the plan as required. Create material handling and site utilization plans. -Communications Systems Installation Supervision -Constantly reads written communications and views mail submissions. Will also need to read blueprints and take/verify field measurements. -Maintain Project Logs. -Stooping – Bending the body downward and forward by the spine at the waist. -Scheduling - Participate in the project scheduling to the extent necessary to ensure that it is "their schedule" and that it complies with the job planning. -Material Receiving - Be sure that material received is properly inspected for quantity and quality, and that the receiving tickets are properly signed and coded and submitted. -Climbing – Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding and ramps at various heights. -Develop forms detailing and special construction methods for job efficiency.

What You Bring
-Experience managing or overseeing installation of low voltage building systems -Sometimes operates a computer or tablet and other office machinery, such as a calculator and phone. -Other desirable credentials: BICISI Certified Cable Installer, RCDD – Registered Designer -Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or Business. Professional accreditations, including DBIA, LEED, etc. -Heavy Work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. -Reaching – Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction for various lengths of time. -Audio Visual Systems Integrator -Visual acuity and ability to operate a vehicle as certified and appropriate. -Verification of Work Authorization and Employment Eligibility -Grasping – Needs to apply pressure to an object with fingers and palm regularly. -Credentials: Ideal candidates possess: PMP or BICSI - RTPM (Certified Technology Project Manager) -Balancing – Ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling and to walk, stand or crouch. -Walking - The person in this position needs to frequently move about the jobsite. -Electrical / Low Voltage Systems experience – 3 to 7 years -Physical Exam (if applicable)
