Tasks

-Coach on productivity and safety targets, and deliver disciplinary action -Oversee and develop warehouse associates through one-on-one coaching, training on policy and procedures, assisting in problem resolution when required, and leading by example. -Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel. -Lead with a safety mindset by regularly inspecting the facility for safety hazards and either resolve them or report them as appropriate. -Direct and coordinate warehouse activities to ensure that customer orders can be fulfilled timely and efficiently. -Maintain physical condition and safety of warehouse and equipment, including preparing work orders for repairs and requisitions for equipment. -Drive efficient warehouse operations ensuring the timely receiving and storage of inbound material, the accurate selection of products for order fulfillment, and the staging and loading of trucks for outbound delivery. -Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods. -Analyze the current operations and make recommendations on expense and cost control. -This job is performed in a large distribution center warehouse environment. -Work with the operations management team to identify sources of inventory shrink and assist in the development of an action plan.

What You Bring

-A minimum of 3 years of management experience. -The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb. -The ability to stand and walk for the full length of the assigned shift. -Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures. -Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills. -Experience managing a union environment (Local 3). -A minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse distribution. -The ability to lift, push, and pull objects. -Ability to exercise safety while carrying out all job responsibilities. -Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. -Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment. -Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
