Tasks

In this pivotal leadership role, you will shape and drive Orica’s IT delivery strategy, managing a team of project managers and analysts. You’ll oversee governance, champion methodology adoption, and collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to ensure successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of high-value projects. This is an opportunity to lead with purpose—combining strategic oversight, operational excellence, and people development to drive meaningful change through technology. -Set performance objectives and support professional growth -Provide transparent updates through dashboards, reports, and forums -Ensure alignment with business priorities, value drivers, and strategic outcomes -Allocate and manage project management capacity across a dynamic pipeline -Define and drive the delivery strategy for Orica’s global IT projects portfolio -Implement and chair robust governance forums and steering committees -Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers and analysts -Build strong relationships through proactive communication and alignment -Act as the primary liaison for project sponsors and senior business leaders -Promote consistent adoption of project management frameworks (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Hybrid) -Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement -Ensure adherence to Orica’s PMO standards and delivery excellence

Orica is seeking a seasoned IT Portfolio Delivery Manager to lead the execution of our global IT projects portfolio—ensuring every initiative delivers strategic value and measurable business impact. -Proficiency in risk management and modern IT systems -PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification (strongly preferred) -Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills -Experience in PMO or program management leadership roles -Strong understanding of IT domains (applications, infrastructure, security, data) -10+ years of experience in IT project and portfolio delivery -Proven success in leading complex, high-impact technology projects
