Tasks

-Actively seeks feedback from clients and communicate this to the team to ensure successful delivery of projects and lessons learnt. -Undertakes appropriate verification of all inputs and outputs on hydraulic modelling projects including GIS, SCADA, field data and growth projections. -Completes tasks within allocated timeframes and budgeted hours. -Carries out project works in accordance with our Integrated Management System (IMS). Work alongside project managers and junior team members to ensure efficient delivery. Delivers through teams, not individually. -Leads continuous digital improvement and innovation on water hydraulic modelling and can identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and data management. -Ensure projects and variations are scoped and priced in a manner that will ensure commercial success and that respond to the specific risk profile of the project. -Successfully supports, coaches and mentors hydraulic modelling professionals to achieve a good standard of hydraulic modelling, embedding a culture of successful project delivery whilst also holding them to account, reducing re-work and supporting the continuous growth of the WSP water modelling capability. -Ensures project related quality processes are carried out (technical reviews, verification, approval to release etc.) in a timely and cost-effectively manner. -Uses Infoworks WS Pro in-built tools to successfully investigate complex water network operational scenarios. -Applies sound engineering judgement to resolve modelling anomalies to improve overall modelling confidence and communicates all risks and limitations on use of hydraulic models to the project team and the client. -Solves problems effectively by applying knowledge of hydraulics and engaging sound problem solving techniques and appropriate analysis to find value engineered/innovative solutions. -Undertakes appropriate verification of projects and team members’ work. -Builds and maintains strong, trusted relationships with clients. -Develops and maintains an extensive network of industry contacts in India and NZ (as a minimum) and is readily able to access key people. -Hold focused meetings that achieve appropriate outcomes at key times; Deliver engaging, informative well-organized presentations; Create opportunities to share learnings, improvements, new tools, better practices etc with the wider water team. -Liaise and work closely with Sector leadership and peer groups across India and New Zealand; Act as a brand ambassador of GCC within WSP in India across geographies. -Leads the technical delivery of a water supply network planning and modelling. Carries out hydraulic calculations, analysis and investigations for clients using Infoworks WS Pro software for modelling projects and tasks, including preparation of reports, figures and other documents to a high level of grammatical and technical presentation. -Considering risks to client’s business or reputation as part of the planning and management of projects. -Writes and supports bids that are commercially astute, recognises and manages commercial risks while demonstrating value to the client. -Ensures that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times. -Ensures all technical risks are understood, managed, assigned to the organisation best placed to manage the risk, and these are well communicated with the project team, and/or client -Delivering excellent service to clients to promote repeat and uncompetitive work. -Provides regular feedback to team members in a constructive and timely manner. -Works without supervision, direct others and ensures their work is verified by an appropriate professional.

What You Bring

-Resilient, comfortable with change and ambiguity. -Proficient use of Windows, MS Word/Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. -Highly capable of developing own SQL or other user-script applications for Infoworks WS Pro. -Minimum of 15 years’ experience post qualification in water supply network planning, engineering and hydraulic modelling. -Projects a credible image and inspires confidence; Excellent interpersonal skills. -Models WSP Guiding Principles. -Demonstrates industry best practice for model build, calibration and system performance assessments, including leakage and demand analysis, pressure management and infrastructure / growth planning. -Natural and confident leader displaying openness, accountability, decisiveness and engagement; Client centric and passionate about service excellence . -Professional Registration (Chartered Engineer status or equivalent). -Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail. -Strong organisational ability to optimise and prioritise conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion; copes well under conflicting pressures. -Commercial and a level of maturity needed to understand business needs and drivers. -Able to work effectively and competently with people at all levels; within and external to the organisation. Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrated capability to perform effectively as part of a team across a matrix type structure. -Fluent in spoken and written English and able to present ideas, complex technical information and advice in a way that is understandable to a wide range of audiences; Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. -Maintains knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, codes of practice and New Zealand standards; Is knowledgeable on industry developments, trends, and processes. -Past experience in NZ, Australian or UK projects is preferred but not essential. -Displays drive, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done with high levels of motivation and energy; Project credibility demonstrate professionalism and inspire confidence with high emotional intelligence and self-awareness of strengths and potential areas for development. -Applies sound judgement to decisions about technical issues and solves problems for clients to get the best possible outcome for a project. -Able to manage others and support them through stressful or challenging situations. -Demonstrable experience in developing SQL or other user-script applications for Infoworks WS Pro. -Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India. -Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering followed by a Masters in Water Resource Engineering or Environmental Engineering or similar -Must have at least 8 years’ experience using WS Pro software and extensive use within the last 12 months. -Must be highly proficient in WS Pro software for all water supply network planning applications. -Demonstrates how Infoworks WS Pro models can be used to support the development of zone management plans, water supply strategies and demand management plans.
