The Role

Overview

Ensures construction sites meet HSE standards, audits contractors, and drives safety performance.

Tasks

-Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard identification. -Organize toolbox talks, safety drills, and refresher training sessions. -Participate in pre-job meetings and ensure alignment on safety expectations. -Oversee the PTW system for high-risk activities (e.g., hot work, confined space entry). -Submit regular HSE performance reports to management. -Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken. -Enforce company and legal HSE policies and procedures on-site. -Coordinate drills and ensure readiness of emergency equipment. -Perform routine site inspections and internal audits. -Monitor HSE compliance of all third-party contractors. -Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations. -Prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures. -Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, training, and audits. -Conduct HSE inductions for new employees and contractors. -Develop and maintain emergency response plans. -Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. -Ensure all permits are properly issued, monitored, and closed.

What You Bring

-Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience (as OSH Manager, Lead or above) accompanied by Post-Secondary OSH Qualification (NVQ level 4/5). -Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience (as OSH Manager, Lead or above) accompanied by an OSH related Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University; or NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6 equivalent or above). -Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience (as OSH Manager, Lead or above) accompanied by an OSH related Master’s Degree or above from an accredited University; or Equivalent. -Strong communication skills.
