Tasks

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in major grid automation and transmission projects, acting as a technical interface between customers and the wider engineering team. -Specify IEDs, software configurations, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. -Investigate and resolve protection-related technical issues and support site teams. -Lead technical delivery across the full project lifecycle — from design to commissioning. -Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). -Analyse customer specifications and develop technical documentation. -Coordinate with customers, project managers, and internal teams on technical scope, risks, and budgets.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Protection Design Engineer to support the design, delivery, and commissioning of protection systems for electrical substations. -Knowledge of LV, MV & HV protection and automation systems. -5+ years’ experience in protection and electrical design engineering for substations. -Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment. -Strong understanding of protection functions, schemes, and cubicle design. -Willingness to travel (UK & international) with a valid driving licence. -Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). -Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills. -Experience with substation automation and protection relays. -Experience with relay configuration and network studies.
