The Role

Overview

Provides clerical support, handles communications, data entry, and office administration.

Tasks

-Work with purchasing unit to ensure procurements are completed in a timely manner. -Regularly communicate with agency staff, customers, and vendors. -Open, sort, process, and triage emails. -Resolve customer issues or redirect complaints to the proper staff for resolution. -Work with staff to coordinate bureau-wide activities including internal controls, trainings, and other large-scale efforts. -Create, organize, and maintain office files. -Responsible for data entry into various program databases. -Assist with efforts to establish overtime rosters. -Answer phones and provide customers general information. -Provide support to each program area including permitting units and field operation staff. -Maintain a variety of records and preparation of weekly and monthly reports.

Benefits

-There is no examination required for appointment to a NY HELPS position. Candidates hired via NY HELPS will be appointed on a permanent non-competitive basis and will begin a probationary period.
