Overview

Accounting/audit internship handling financial statements, audits, journal entries, and JV results.

Tasks

-Workpaper preparation for wholly owned entities, subsidiary financial statement (including footnotes) and Joint Venture financial results -Effectively communicate with other Accountants, Supervisors and Managers -Support and participate in collaboration activities to promote and implement process improvements -Establish trust and productive working relationship with field personnel and construction partners -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Journal entry preparation -Perform internal financial, operational, compliance, and strategic audits -Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls -Preparation and distribution of Joint Venture financial results -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Inspect account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness and use of accepted accounting procedure

What You Bring

-Proficient in Microsoft Programs including Office, Excel, and Outlook -Excellent organizational skills, including ability to plan and prioritize work, and handle multiple projects simultaneously -Successful completion of Intermediate Financial Accounting, Introduction to Tax and -Must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance -Reliable and consistent attendance -Highly motivated and self-directed; initiative and a sense of urgency to get things done -Prior work experience with using multiple technology systems preferred -Good attention to detail, with ability to recognize discrepancies -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Effective communicator -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Clear, fast thinker who is able to translate business needs into pragmatic solutions -Regular, reliable attendance -Ability to provide information to supervisors, co-workers and internal customers clearly and accurately, as well as accurate, efficient and corrective feedback -Understanding of U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, and controls framework -Excellent analytical skills. Ability to analyze underlying principles, reasons or facts surrounding financial reports -Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze and identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems -Knowledge of basic accounting functions and journal entries
