Lead mechanical design for railway stations, delivering sustainable, compliant services

Tasks
-Realising WSP’s and our client net zero carbon commitments and ambitions by delivering highly sustainable, low carbon design. -You will work closely with like-minded individuals on exciting and challenging projects. -Designing of pipework including heating, cooling, hot and cold water systems -the design of above ground plumbing and waste systems, of the design of rainwater disposal systems and of the design of drainage systems -Becoming part of the wider WSP business by sharing knowledge and technical skills with colleagues from around the globe. -Deliver projects for Network Rail, HS2, TfL, Transport for The North, TfGM, Nexus, Local Authorities, Principal Contractors and Private Developers -Selecting of plant and equipment items based upon designs produced including but not limited to Air Handling Units, Fans, Pumps, Pressurisation Units, Boilers, Heat emitters, Chillers, Ductwork and ductwork ancillaries, Pipework and pipework ancillaries -Understanding of: the requirements of Network Rail and/or London Underground standards the design of controls/BMS for mechanical systems the design of above ground plumbing and waste systems, of the design of rainwater disposal systems and of the design of drainage systems -Designing of ventilation systems including general ventilation systems -Supervising the completion of detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function, whilst maximising joint learning opportunities for the wider business -Working in an environment that allows you to use your own initiative with support from specific specialist experience to deliver high-quality engineering solutions -Interpretation of client specification requirements in the development of designs -Undertake project work from across the design lifecycle, including early concept stage to detail design -Producing and supervise high quality, industry leading building designs -the design of controls/BMS for mechanical systems

What You Bring
-Chartership status with a UK Engineering Institution -Having a detailed working knowledge of compliance requirements to Building Regulations, Part L and other MEP sustainable and Net Zero design requirements. -Experience of mechanical building services design in the Rail environment, including: heating, cooling, hot and cold water, and ventilation systems
