Tasks

Join a leading electrical contractor as the Electrical Estimator, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving our preconstruction strategy and shaping the future of the most complex, high-profile commercial, healthcare, and government projects. In this position, you’ll lead a talented estimating team, support all bid activities, and partner directly with executives and project leaders to develop competitive, profitable proposals. -Follow-up at the end of projects to close any loops in the estimating process to include invoicing and cost tracking -Prepare bills of material and other information for use by Purchasing -Assist other members of the Estimating team with cost estimates and bid package preparation -Develop strategies for being awarded projects -Coordinate with Project Management -Compare various project documents for accuracy and consistency as well as data entry -Maintain bid log and report to corporate -Prepare complete labor and material cost estimates -Assist construction personnel throughout the project lifecycle in tracking and understanding of cost estimates -Help maintain and develop estimating database -Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation -Prepare and submit change orders -Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stake holders -Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for Estimating -Outline and prepare responses to RFP's and RFQ's -Determine constructability requirements via field walk-downs with customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or similar field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree. -Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Bluebeam, Accubid and/or other estimating software -Proven ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, etc. plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals and other relevant documents -Minimum 4+ years of electrical construction estimating experience, specifically for large-scale, vertical construction projects. -Knowledgeable of current local and national electrical codes (N.E.C.) -Working knowledge of electrical materials and methods of installation -Experience leading electrical estimates for large-scale Healthcare, Commercial, High-Rise, and/or Government projects. -Working knowledge of local electrical codes -Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task for extended periods of time while working independently -General knowledge of engineered material costs
