Tasks

-Design / source learning solutions that will guide the development of our training curriculums -Assist the H&S Training Specialist in the review of H&S procedures, policies, GRAs and guidance notes -Work with the Learning Systems Specialist in building and delivering ‘blended learning’ solutions -Proactively obtain employee feedback to evaluate and review success of training and assessment approach and delivery and take appropriate remedial action -Undertake the direct supervision to take responsibility for the performance and the health and safety of employees whilst under control of training and assessment environment -Deliver training and competence assessments to ensure employees have role-specific and task-specific technical knowledge and practical skills to competently and safely undertake their role whilst complying with regulatory, statutory and legislator guidance and requirements. The delivery of training will be predominantly at Leigh and Bolton Training Centres, with frequent travel required across the region, including at our satellite training locations at Kendal and Carlisle. -Work with Health and Safety Business Partners and Business Area SMEs to review existing training solutions and develop new solutions to meet future training requirements to ensure all curriculum offerings are fit for purpose and relevant to roles -Develop course content which can be mapped onto recognised water industry frameworks and ensures compliance with regulatory, statutory and legislator guidance and requirements -Produce lesson plans, schemes of work, assessment criteria and learning outcomes for internally-delivered training and assessment programmes

What You Bring

-Ability to manage own workload, work within tight timescales and manage business expectations -Demonstrable industry experience in discipline/skills/tasks relevant to H&S training delivery requirements, for example Emergency First Aid, Safe Working at Height, Confined Space Entry -Knowledge and experience of developing, monitoring and assessing technical knowledge, skills and competence -Self-motivated with the ability to communicate well with field staff and management -Ability to effectively and confidently communicate with employees of all experience levels -A comprehensive working knowledge of the technical and health and safety requirements and expectations of specific roles and processes undertaken by employees working across operational business areas within UU -The ability to develop content to match immediate and future business needs, utilising existing knowledge and research -Experience of teaching/training delivery and assessment of competence -Working knowledge of competence frameworks within UU -Recognised qualification in H&S practice (NEBOSH or equivalent)
