The Role

Overview

Monitor and enforce trade waste compliance to protect waterways and environment.

Tasks

-Investigate discharges and environmental incidents to protect public and environmental health. -Collaborate across Council and with external agencies to drive continuous improvement in water quality management. -Monitor and enforce compliance with Napier’s Integrated Trade Waste and Wastewater Bylaw. -Conduct site inspections, review consents, and work with businesses to promote pollution prevention.

-Ka Awatea Cultural Wānanga + NCC Kapa Haka -Strong communicator with analytical thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. -Confident working independently and collaboratively, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach. -Te Reo Māori language classes -Hold a Bachelor’s degree in environmental management or a related discipline. -Bring 4–5 years’ experience in environmental compliance, trade waste, or water quality monitoring.
