Test outbound material quality and record findings per specifications.

Tasks

-Perform plant quality checks per SMI’s Quality Procedures. -Assist in utilizing the SMI Quality system at SMI facility. -Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure equipment operates efficiently to optimize product quality. -Wear appropriate site specific personal protective equipment (PPE), as required. -Lead in ensuring that product and services meet or exceed customer specifications. -Perform and document in-process cullet sampling in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP). -Conduct and document incoming and outgoing load inspections. -Update and maintain quality records on a computer. -Understand and adhere to all company operating procedures and company safety policies.

What You Bring

-Capable of operating quality equipment (inspection tables, ovens etc.). -Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, with little supervision. -Able to read and understand Procedures and Test Methods. -Strong leadership and organizational skills. -Excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills. -Core competencies in Quality Control, Testing, and Auditing, a plus. -High School diploma or GED preferred. -Basic computer operation skills (experience with Excel and Outlook). -Quality Improvement Process knowledge. -Cross-trained in other plant positions, as needed. -Quality Control and Operations experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. -Glass processing knowledge preferred. -Capable of using a calculator and laboratory scales and competency with interpreting numbers. -Data entry experience.
