Overview
Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems, produce documents, and support projects.

Tasks
-Develop design concepts; prepare documents during the design development phase. -Provide limited contribution to performance reviews for assigned staff. -Ensure acceptable levels of quality and checks for coordination of work to ensure documents reflect design intent and necessary coordination. -Research non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from code officials. -Coordinate design work with related engineering disciplines. -Develop solutions to design problems. -Use computer-aided design technologies to develop sketches, drawings, and construction documents. -Support field installation and start-up activities. -Work with equipment suppliers/vendors to obtain the necessary information needed for design completion. -Research equipment selection from catalogs under the direction of the Project Designer/Engineer. -Routinely archive and retrieve data from electronic databases for the support of work. -Review drawings and documents to ensure compliance with company design and production standards. -Interact with clients on a limited basis to secure scope and design intent. -Correct and update design documents.

What You Bring
-Technical or Associate Degree in plumbing or HVAC design from an accredited technical institution or college. -General knowledge of plumbing and fire protection systems, including Sanitary and Vent Systems, Storm Systems, Process Waste Systems, Lab and Vent Systems, Domestic Water Systems, Process and Lab Gas Systems, Sprinkler Design, and Wet/Dry/Pre-Action Systems. -5+ years of previous design experience. -Proficient in the use of computers for design and understanding CAD operations. -Customer Service experience exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills. -A safety-minded individual who must comply with the IPS Mission Zero Safety policy. -Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes.
