Tasks

-The Technician II - OSP will assist the OSP Lead Technician with training of new employees. -The Technician II - OSP will assist in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Lead, or Supervisor. -The Technician II - OSP will Keep the worksite clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards. -The Technician II - OSP will oversee all radios and air monitors for projects. -The Technician II - OSP adheres to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. -The Technician II - OSP will pull cables of various sizes through underground duct bank systems. -The Technician II - OSP will guide daily inspections and all confined space equipment. -The Technician II - OSP will assist crew members in placing underground pipes, manual labor and shovel work.

What You Bring

-The Technician II - OSP must withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching; crouching, crawling and shoveling. -The Technician II - OSP must have proven skill level or the ability to learn to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. -Ability to meet Company minimum driving standards preferred. -The Technician II - OSP must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. -The Technician II - OSP must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. -Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools. -The Technician II - OSP must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds. -Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements. -The Technician II - OSP will fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). -Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. -Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years’ of OSP experience or underground utility work in telecommunications. -High School diploma or GED equivalency. -The Technician II - OSP must be able to work in an outdoor (heat, rain, snow, etc) or indoor construction work environment. -The Technician II - OSP must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. -The Technician II - OSP must possess proven problem solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). -The Technician II - OSP must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s). -Screwdriver (regular and Phillips), torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves. Muck boots/water boots. -Must possess the ability to operate a variable reach forklift, skid loader and other specialty OSP equipment.
