Overview

Perform grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks at Defence sites.

Tasks

-Operation of mowers, tractors, small plant, machinery and both powered & non-powered hand tools. -Work across multiple sites as agreed with the Supervisor, based on operational needs. -Propagate, plant, and undertake revegetation across diverse landscapes. -Perform general grounds tasks including debris and rubbish removal, cleaning of outdoor features and hardstand areas, line marking, and managing injured or deceased wildlife. -Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with the Operator’s Manual and scheduled maintenance requirements.

What You Bring

-1 + years experience in a similar working environment. -Experience working within an Environmental Management System. -Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent (desirable but not essential). -Uniform/PPE supplied -Experience in manual handling. -Mulching, pruning, hedging, turf care, pest control and the application of chemicals and fertilisers. -Ability to work well in a team environment. -Experience with operating and maintaining plant and equipment. -Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen and be willing to undertake and maintain a satisfactory Australian Federal Police.
