The Role
Overview
Install, fabricate, and test nuclear piping systems ensuring safety and code compliance.

Tasks
-Test pipe installations. -Wear a respirator as needed (blood pressure no higher than 150/90). -Manually cut and thread pipe. -Install pipe hangers. -Install pipe with flanged fittings. -Clean, bevel, prepare, and install pipe with weld joints. -Install valves, traps, or strainers. -Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing. -Interpret detailed pipe sketches and blueprints. -Fabricate subassemblies from components (e.g., pressure reducing stations, trap stations). -Properly purge and monitor stainless steel piping. -Lay out pipe, including the use of templates. -Apply craft-related math skills. -Install prefab subassemblies or component parts. -Install pipe with screwed fittings. -Machine cut and thread pipe. -Use grinders properly (do not remove guard without supervisor approval).

What You Bring
-Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools. -Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed. -Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels). -Capacity to reason and make sound decisions. -Demonstrate proper use and care of hand tools and measuring devices. -Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods. -Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures. -Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. -Availability for shift work, if needed. -Ability to express thoughts orally. -Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired. -Demonstrate proper use and care of power tools. -Ability to read and write complex documents in English. -Ability to walk job sites and climb. -Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements. -Strategic thinking and planning for growth. -Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking. -Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. -Ability to pass specific training and qualifications. -High School diploma or equivalent. -Ability to support other crafts as requested. -Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures. -3+ years of experience. -Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc. -Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
