Mid-level electrical design engineer for nuclear/industrial projects

Tasks

-Power System Studies: Conduct and review detailed AC/DC calculations using ETAP, including short circuit, voltage drop, arc-flash, motor starting, and relay coordination. -Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams. -Participate in bid evaluations and manage vendor Q&A tracking. -Design and review lighting, communications, and security systems. -Engage with clients and implementation personnel. -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Prepare scoping documents and perform constructability reviews. -Develop and review equipment specifications. -Travel: Visit client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination. -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

What You Bring

-Highly detail-oriented. -Experience: 5+ years in electrical system design for industrial or nuclear power plant projects. -Strong written and verbal communication. -Regular, reliable attendance -Licensure: PE license or ability to obtain. -Skilled in designing low and medium voltage distribution systems (e.g., transformers, generators, motors, relays). -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Experienced in preparing engineering design packages, calculations, and specifications. -Proficient in selecting equipment and materials. -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
