Tasks

-Provide technical input to design and commissioning of mechanical systems. -Work in a collaborative, safety-first environment. -Lead mechanical engineering efforts that power the UK’s clean energy future. -Lead mechanical construction and maintenance activities across SZC-owned infrastructure. -Manage reactive and planned maintenance, fault investigations, and system repairs. -Oversee installation and upkeep of mechanical systems including water pumping, water treatment, desalination & conveyor systems. -Maintain high standards of safety management and continuous improvement. -Deputise for the Assurance & Utilities Manager and lead team briefings when required. -Ensure compliance with mechanical safety rules and health & safety procedures. -Act as Senior Authorised Person and Control Person for mechanical works and documentation. -Support budget planning and delivery for mechanical operations. -Coordinate mechanical works to minimise disruption to SZC’s electricity, water, and IT&T supplies.

What You Bring

-CSCS or CCNSG certification. -Strong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills. -Experience with SZC processes and infrastructure. -IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and relevant software. -Strong experience with mechanical systems operating from 400V to 11kV. -Understanding of CDM Regulations. -Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills. -Full UK driving licence. -HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). -Proven ability to manage mechanical maintenance and construction projects. -Knowledge of specialist mechanical equipment. -Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under E&M Safety Rules. -Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
