The Role
Overview
Install, maintain, and repair piping systems in a fabrication shop.

Tasks
-Sets up and operates bending, threading and cutoff equipment and uses hand tools or torch to shape, prepare and fabricate pipe for work to be done. -Fastens hangers and supports. -Perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control). -Always represents the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics". -Lays out work; calculates dimensions; makes sketches of piping systems when needed. -Interprets drawings and sketches. Plans detail of working procedure and selects materials in accordance with engineering standards. -Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. -Handles or makes provision for the handling of materials, equipment and tools to and from job site in shop in connection with work. -May be required to work from drawings and blueprints. -Makes report of work performed. -Sets up for pipe for welded or special type joints. -Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training. -Assembles and tests a variety of piping components.

What You Bring
-Receives and understands instructions and prints regarding work assignment. -Must pass background check. TWIC & HHFT card preferred. -A general knowledge of basic hand tools. Must be able to pass the Pipefitter Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft. -Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program. -Must be able to work independently after being properly directed by a foreman and lead Helpers and Laborers through the job safely. -Minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
