Concrete (Industrial Power) - Construction Support Manager

Tasks

-Communicates lessons learned. Review project Budget/Unit Rates with assigned superintendent and determine if in line with company earning rules Coordinate and track equipment assignments with site teams and CEF’s and maintain spreadsheet for updates. -Provides recommendations to Operation Manager regarding project civil staff assignments/teams. -Adheres to safety and quality standards as applicable to duties and accountabilities. -Ensures all Construction Projects meet the Client specified civil quality standards. -Work around hazardous equipment. -Directs corrective action for discipline problems or poor performance. Keeps Department and Human Resources Department involved and informed as required. -Support site Superintendents in developing SOPs, man-loaded and equipment-loaded schedules (fragnet schedules), staging plans, bill of materials, quality control plans. -Provides concrete support for national construction projects. -Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. -Monitors, evaluates, and reports civil performance of assigned construction projects to Operation Manager. -Travel to support sites when and where needed. -Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value. Champions continuous improvement efforts. Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Proactively supports, encourages and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities. -Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. -Provides supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports. -Enforces and interprets division and department policies, standards, and procedures. -Develops standard operating procedures for construction execution which minimizes cost and duration of construction activities. -Leads weekly civil superintendent calls to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and resource needs. -Acts as liaison between construction and engineering for all concrete related matters. -Stand, Kneel, Bend, Stoop, Move, and Walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. -Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. -Directs administration and training of construction personnel for national construction projects. -Establishes and maintains relationships and develops a high level of trust and credibility with key clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams.

-Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. -See and hear naturally or with correction. -Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions -5 years showing moving up the ladder craft-foreman-general foreman-supt. working with concrete. -Bachelor’s degree preferred. -Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32F degrees) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. -5 years hand on concrete experience -5 years of hands-on concrete experience -Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. -Requires repetitive movement. -Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. -Minimum software capability requirements: Agtek, MS Word, MS Excel. -May require work above 5 feet in height. -Requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions. -Experience in GPS machine control. -5 years of successful management as a superintendent of major industrial power projects including steam turbine pedestals, combustion turbine & generator foundations, large area HRSG foundations
