Tasks
-Assists with the planning and budget of construction of future substation facilities. -Prepares engineering design plans, layout, schematics, and technical drawings for the construction of new and/or existing high voltage substation facilities and related components. -Prepares bid specifications for the construction, expansion and modification of substation facilities and equipment. -Comply with all applicable Company policies, procedures and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations to include employment, safety and environmental standards and regulations. -Works with vendors to address material and equipment defects and failures. -Provides substation engineering technical support during and after the project construction. -Contributes to capital project scope documentation (e.g.: Scope Zero Document). -Performs research, field work, construction specifications, drawing preparation and material scheduling for the construction of the substation project. -Estimates costs for capital budgets on the construction of substation projects. -Collaborate with project managers, field personnel and other company stakeholders involved in the design and construction of new and expansion substation projects. -Responsible for the procurement of high voltage equipment and overseeing the delivery process of it. -Prepares economic analysis on engineering alternatives to facilities and equipment. -Creates and documents material standards and addresses general construction material issues. -Reviews and receives invoices for materials and engineering services. -Ensures NERC and WECC compliance work is completed and documented appropriately.

What You Bring
-Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards as they pertain to substation and transmission facilities; fundamentals of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, engineering design and techniques, construction methods and specifications, project estimating and scheduling, and applicable standards. -Ability to design electrical systems, comprehend project cost estimates, perform complex substation reports (e.g.: grounding grid reports, equipment inspection reports), meet project deadlines, and develop design and construction documents. -0-5 years or more experience required. -Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters. -College level course work in electrical power systems preferred. -Ability to maintain effective working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, and the general public. -Ability to coordinate, organize, and prioritize tasks; perform complex calculations and operate personal computer with engineering software and AutoCad applications. -Effective verbal and written communication skills. -Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. -Valid driver’s license and be in compliance with the Company’s Driving Program policy.
