Tasks

-Support quality control efforts by reviewing design deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards. -Conduct research on materials, codes, and regulations to support design efforts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and industry standards. -Use CAD and other design software to create and modify engineering drawings and plans, ensuring adherence to project specifications and company standards. -Assist in the development of engineering designs, preparing technical drawings, calculations, and models under the supervision of senior engineers. -Participate in project meetings, taking notes and providing updates on assigned tasks to ensure that design development is on track. -Assist in preparing project documentation, including design reports, calculations, and specifications, for review by senior engineers. -Work collaboratively and effectively with clients and colleagues including cross-functional teams, peers, direct reports, and leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. -Conduct field visits or site inspections to gather data or assist in assessing existing conditions as needed. -Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to gather technical input and integrate various engineering systems into designs.

-Foundational knowledge of engineering principles, design processes, and construction methods. -Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings. -Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, via video conferencing, over the phone, and through written communication. -Awareness of relevant industry standards, building codes, and regulations. -Effective communication skills for collaborating with project teams. -Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. -Familiarity with systems and equipment commonly used in their design discipline. -Proficiency in using design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit). -Understanding of materials and sustainability considerations in engineering design. -Knowledge of design software, such as CAD, Revit, or BIM platforms. -Ability to manage time effectively and meet project deadlines. -Ability to perform engineering calculations under supervision. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited university. -Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers. -Ability to adapt to new challenges and learn engineering tools and software. -Engineer In Training (EIT) certification. -Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.). -Ability to work on-site during project inspections or data collection as needed. -Ability to interpret technical information and apply it to design tasks. -0-1 year of experience in engineering design or internship experience. -Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from senior staff. -Strong organizational skills for managing project documentation. -Adapt to changing business needs and priorities, demonstrating flexibility in taking on new responsibilities and adjusting to evolving challenges. -Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) in an internship or academic setting.
