The Role

Overview

Conduct thermal modeling, design reviews, and performance testing for power plants.

Tasks

-Procurement of major power plant equipment, upgrades, maintenance, and service agreements. -Support power generation project owners and developers for new thermal energy projects. -Participate as mechanical lead in feasibility studies and development support for new power projects including the areas of biofuels and hydrogen. -Interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution. -Execute performance testing of new & existing thermal and renewable energy plants. -Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing. -Participate in condition assessments of existing power plants. -Provide technical support for carbon capture studies. -Monitor project schedules and budgets. -Support proposals for new business development opportunities. -Perform owner’s engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power projects. -Prepare and review other engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations. -Perform thermal modeling of conventional generation power plants using Thermoflow software.

What You Bring

-Experience in owner’s engineering design reviews of electric power projects. -10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, specifically experience in thermal power generation. -This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time. -Excellent technical communication and writing skills. -Familiarity with design codes and standards. -Detailed understanding of power station operation and maintenance. -Experience with performance testing of thermal energy plants. -This position is open to Raleigh, NC; Overland Park, KS; and Paramus,NJ office locations.
