The Role
Overview
Assist design and management of roadway projects, mentor staff, and liaise with clients.

Tasks
-Aid in overseeing the production of design plans and specifications for urban and rural public roadways, including grading, erosion control, and stormwater management. -Support team coaching, day-to-day guidance, and performance management. -Manage team assignments, including mentoring junior engineers and ensuring quality control. -Partner with an experienced Project Manager to lead a transportation engineering design team, focusing on urban and rural roadway projects. -Review civil engineering design calculations, drainage reports, and cost estimates -Develop relationships with clients and public agencies, contributing to creating proposals for transportation projects. -Mentor and encourage the development of junior professionals and technicians

What You Bring
-Experience with roadway design, hydrologic and hydraulic computations, computer modeling, and presentation of results. -Demonstrated knowledge of the Nebraska Department of Transportation or City of Lincoln, NE roadway projects and/or Experience with the City of Omaha, Sarpy, and Douglas County, and/or other local agencies preferred -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an EAC/ABET, CEAB-accredited engineering program, or program that is meeting the NCEES Engineering Education Standard -Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation and OpenRoads/GEOPAK software -Knowledge of Local Agency jurisdictional requirements for Roadway Design. -Fifteen years of progressively responsible engineering experience -Ten years of progressively responsible engineering experience -Demonstrated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills -Registered Professional Civil Engineer License -Knowledge of the AASHTO “Geometric Design of Highway and Street” -Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office -Knowledge of Public Improvement Plan layouts, design, processes, and procedures.
