The Role

Overview

Design and engineer AV/ICT systems for diverse projects, collaborating with clients and teams.

Tasks

-Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others. -Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assists Senior team members in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings. -Creates basic designs with little supervision of the senior staff and creates medium to complex designs under direction of senior staff. Develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes. -Assists senior team member in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, resource requirements and project budgets. -Assists the senior team member in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda. -Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior team member. -Supports the design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, system retrofits, system replacement and system upgrades for a wide variety of projects and project types -Coordinates with other disciplines and works in close contact with the entire design team. -Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports. -Takes ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work assignments. -Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior team members, perform CAD/BIM drafting, equipment selections, systems calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation. -Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)

What You Bring

-Learns and experts drawing organization and company standards. -Cross trained in multidisciplinary designs and support design production of drawings, calculations, research, reports, analysis, and specification. -3.5+ to 7 years of relevant experience focusing: Audio Visual. -Exhibits basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to our building designs. -Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Technology. -Possesses ability to pass the PE exam or relevant ICT certifications. -Possesses basic understanding of proper system selection. -Has a basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN, WAN fundamentals and other ICT trades fundamentals. -Experience with the MS Office 360 including: Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe Bluebeam and other business software desirable. -Has a basic understanding of Wi-Fi infrastructure, WAPs, controllers. -Demonstrates ability to use CAD/Revit for system layout and spatial coordination of production of detailed drawings generally.
