Accounts Payable Representative

Overview

Handle direct billing verification, vendor invoice processing, and AP discrepancy resolution.

Tasks

-Reviews vendor statements to identify past due/disputed amounts, and works with -Performs a verification of the costs associated with Direct customer billings, approves the related vendor invoices, and process the vendor payable. -Provide assistance on direct billing procedures to branch associates. -Review “User Job Queue Trackers” entered and updated by Shared Service AP team and communicate with PO writers for resolution with inaccuracies -Review “Unapproved Payables” report provided by Sonepar Shared Services and work with branches to reconcile -Enters sales or cost adjustment orders to correct errors identified by branch or corporate associates. -Reviews selected accounts payable invoice discrepancies and vendor credit/debit memos (those involving direct orders or contract costs) for proper customer treatment, cost adjustments, and account allocation. -Provides primary position back-up and as needed assistance for accounts payable overhead. -Review UBAP “Aged Unbilled Stock Receipts” report to ensure outstanding invoices and vendor credits are matched appropriately. -branch associates to resolve those issues as well as vendor inquiries.

-Ability to communicate and share solutions with fellow team members. -High School diploma or equivalent, with secondary or post-secondary coursework concentrated in accounting/bookkeeping or related fields or 2-4 years industry experience. -Mathematical and analytical skills, verbal communication, proficiency in data entry and 10-key pad. -Good multitasking and time management skills. -Ability to be a Customer Service leader. -Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization. -Problem-solving skills and computer skills -Proficient in general personal computer applications and Microsoft Office programs.
